Sterling work acknowledged
THE first ever Evening Courier Community and Environment Awards paid tribute to the cream of Calderdale's unsung heroes, volunteers and green gods at a glittering awards ceremony in Elland.
Lorna Butterick, business manager, said: "It's just fantastic.
"Youngsters get such a negative press so for us to win is great
publicity it shows that these so-called troubled teenagers we work
with can not only take advantage of opportunities we give them, they
can become a real benefit to the businesses they work with."
